Invited Speaker - Tony Gatrell
Emeritus Professor Tony Gatrell was co-director of Lancaster University's North West Regional Research Lab, one of the UK's pioneering GIS labs in the early 1990s. His collaborations in the lab with Peter are the foundations on which Lancaster's expertise in applied spatial statistics has been built.
After the NWRRL, Tony then started the University's Institute for Health Research, which led to the establishment of the Faculty of Health and Medicine where he was the founding Dean. His research has been at the intersection of geography, statistics, epidemiology and computing, although since retirement he has been researching at the intersection of golf ball and club face.
